NIC Services Group marked National Apprenticeship Week with a strong sense of pride, taking time to reflect on the progress achieved and the people who continue to shape a flourishing apprenticeship programme.
The week began with reflections from senior leaders, who spoke about the journey so far and the ambition that continues to guide the organisation. Their messages recognised not only the steady growth of the programme, but the tangible impact it is having across teams, sites and career pathways.
As the celebrations unfolded, the scale of achievement over the past year became clear. What started as a look back at key highlights soon turned into a month by month story of progress. New tutors joined the business. New apprentices enrolled across a range of disciplines. New programmes were introduced. Participation increased at every level. It has been a year defined by energy, commitment and measurable development.
Among the most meaningful milestones was seeing the first apprentices successfully complete their End Point Assessments. Watching them move forward with confidence and clear career direction was a powerful reminder of the value of investing in people. Their success reflects the dedication of learners, mentors and colleagues across the organisation.
Today, NIC Services Group offers one of the most comprehensive apprenticeship pathways in the sector. Colleagues can progress from a Level 2 apprenticeship through to a Level 7 master’s qualification, supported every step of the way. In an industry that is often overlooked, the organisation is proud to provide structured, credible and ambitious career routes that enable individuals to grow and build long term futures.
Laura Sterling, Chief People Officer, shared her thoughts on the week and the programme’s achievements:
“National Apprenticeship Week gives us an important opportunity to pause and recognise what has been accomplished, but also to look ahead with confidence. The progress we have made as a business is a direct result of our commitment to developing our people. Seeing apprentices complete their programmes, gain new qualifications and step into more senior roles is incredibly rewarding. We are building more than skills. We are building careers, confidence and a culture of continuous learning that will shape the future of NIC for years to come.”
The week concluded with a spotlight on colleagues at our Support Office, Spencer House in Leeds, where apprenticeships are thriving across multiple levels. The enthusiasm and engagement seen there reflect the wider culture across the business.
National Apprenticeship Week was a chance to celebrate apprentices, tutors and the teams who support them every day. Above all, it reinforced a shared commitment to investing in talent and continuing this journey of growth together.
