NIC FM Services Group has announced its sponsorship and support for the Yorkshire Tennis Visually Impaired League, which will now be known as the NIC Yorkshire Visually Impaired Tennis League. The league kicks off its first round on 18th April 2026 in Hull, marking a significant milestone in promoting inclusive sport across the region.
This exciting new league brings together visually impaired players in a fun, inclusive, and competitive environment. Highlighting that tennis, and sport in general is for everyone, regardless of ability, the league is breaking down barriers and creating new opportunities for visually impaired players to enjoy the game.
The league will feature three categories:
- B1 for players with the least sight,
- B2 plus, where at least one player in a doubles pair falls within the B2 sight category, and
- Open, where players of any sight category can compete, with the aim of eventually welcoming sighted players.
Paul Faulkner, Group Marketing Director for NIC, said:
“We’re thrilled to support the NIC Yorkshire Visually Impaired Tennis League. At NIC, we believe in creating opportunities for everyone to enjoy sport, and this league embodies inclusivity, competition, and community. We look forward to seeing these talented players in action and celebrating their achievements.”
David Wallace of Yorkshire Tennis added:
“This partnership with NIC FM Services Group is a fantastic boost for the league. It allows us to grow the sport for visually impaired players and inspire even more people to take part. With the league now officially the NIC Yorkshire Visually Impaired Tennis League, we can continue to break down barriers and show that tennis truly is for everyone.”
The NIC Yorkshire Visually Impaired Tennis League promises an exciting season ahead, celebrating skill, determination, and inclusivity.
