Leading facilities management provider continues its fleet transformation as the first electric vans in the new NIC livery hit the road following the successful introduction of more than 100 hybrid company cars earlier this year.
NIC FM has officially launched the first phase of its electric vehicle (EV) transformation programme, with the introduction of its first fully electric service vans featuring the company’s new corporate livery.
The rollout represents the next chapter in NIC’s long-term commitment to building a cleaner, more sustainable fleet. It follows the successful introduction of more than 100 hybrid company cars just a few months ago, demonstrating the organisation’s continued investment in reducing carbon emissions while delivering operational excellence across the UK.
The new electric vans will be deployed across operational teams nationwide, supporting frontline colleagues while significantly reducing tailpipe emissions. As further vehicles enter service over the coming months, the programme will form a key part of NIC’s wider Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) strategy and its journey towards a lower-carbon future.
The distinctive new vehicle livery reflects the company’s modern brand identity while symbolising the next phase in the evolution of one of the UK’s leading facilities management businesses.
Ken Atherton, Chief Operating Officer at NIC FM, said:
“The launch of our first electric vans represents far more than a fleet upgrade; it’s the next step in our wider fleet transformation. Following the successful introduction of more than 100 hybrid company cars earlier this year, we’re continuing to invest in cleaner technologies that reduce our environmental impact while supporting the high-quality services our customers expect.”
“This is the first phase of a wider investment that will see our commercial vehicle fleet continue to evolve as technology advances and infrastructure develops. Sustainability is becoming embedded in every part of our business, and transitioning to electric vehicles is another important milestone in that commitment. We are proud to be investing in a cleaner future for our colleagues, our customers and the communities in which we operate.”
NIC’s fleet strategy considers operational efficiency, vehicle performance, charging infrastructure and whole-life environmental impact, ensuring the transition to electric vehicles is both practical and commercially sustainable.
Rick Selway, Fleet Manager at NIC FM, added:
“Managing a national fleet requires careful planning, and our transition towards lower-emission vehicles has been a phased journey. The introduction of over 100 hybrid cars demonstrated our commitment to reducing emissions, and these first electric vans mark the next significant milestone in that strategy.”
“These electric vans are the foundation of a much broader programme that will continue to expand as our fleet renews. By embracing renewable energy and cleaner vehicle technology, we’re reducing emissions while creating a more efficient and future-ready fleet that supports both our business and our customers’ sustainability ambitions.”
The introduction of the new electric vans builds on a series of sustainability initiatives across NIC, including the deployment of more than 100 hybrid company cars, investment in environmentally responsible products, waste reduction programmes and innovations designed to help customers achieve their own environmental objectives.
As the UK’s journey towards net zero gathers pace, NIC’s continued investment in hybrid and electric vehicles demonstrates how facilities management providers can lead by example, delivering practical, measurable environmental improvements while maintaining operational excellence.
