That spirit was celebrated at this year’s Co-op Pioneer Awards, where NIC FM Services Group was proud to host and sponsor a table, joining colleagues, partners and industry leaders from across the grocery sector to celebrate the people, innovation and partnerships shaping the future of the industry.
The evening brought together representatives from across the Co-op, including Heather Thomas, Group Property & Sustainability Director; Matt Halliwell, Head of FM Logistics & Corporate; Cheryl McCann, Contract Manager Logistics; Krishna Ruparelia, Head of Category; and Polly Spragg, Category Manager, alongside members of the NIC FM team.
It was a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the strength of the partnership between NIC FM and the Co-op and to showcase the progress being made through collaboration, innovation and a shared commitment to creating more sustainable, efficient and future-ready operations.
Over recent years, NIC FM and the Co-op have worked together to identify opportunities to reduce environmental impact while delivering operational improvements across the distribution network. From introducing lower-emission technologies and sustainable cleaning innovations to driving efficiencies across multiple logistics sites, the partnership continues to demonstrate how environmental responsibility and operational excellence can go hand in hand.
What makes the partnership particularly valuable is the collaborative approach taken by both organisations. By sharing knowledge, challenging traditional approaches and identifying opportunities beyond the day-to-day service, we continue to find solutions that deliver environmental, commercial and social value.
Sarah Robinson, Distribution Director at NIC FM Services Group, said:
“It was a privilege to be part of such a fantastic evening and to celebrate alongside so many inspirational people from across the Co-op family and the wider grocery industry.
The Pioneer Awards are a brilliant example of how partnership, collaboration and community spirit come together. The evening provided a great opportunity to reflect on what can be achieved when organisations work together with a shared ambition, and to showcase the positive impact our teams are making every day across the Co-op estate.
We are incredibly proud of our relationship with the Co-op and the opportunity to support events like this, which bring people together, celebrate achievement across the industry and raise much-needed funds for colleagues and their families.”
The evening also highlighted the important work of GroceryAid, the industry’s charity providing practical, emotional and financial support to grocery colleagues and their families during times of need.
Being able to support an event that brings the grocery community together while contributing to such an important cause is something NIC FM is incredibly proud to be part of.
The Pioneer Awards are a great reflection of the values shared across the grocery industry, partnership, innovation, recognition and community. For NIC FM and the Co-op, these are values that continue to underpin a strong and evolving relationship as we work together to deliver more sustainable and effective operations.
A huge congratulations to all of the finalists, winners and organisers who made this year’s Pioneer Awards such a memorable celebration of the people and partnerships across the grocery industry.
And, of course, thank you to the Co-op for the opportunity to be part of such a fantastic evening.
